Processing Technology for Machining T-Slots on High-Precision Granite Surface Plates
High-Precision CNC Slot Machining: After the reference surface of the platform is precision ground, the T-slot undergoes fine grinding in a constant temperature and humidity environment using a specialized diamond grinding head mounted on a CNC machine, ensuring the positioning accuracy, straightness, and perpendicularity of the slot.
Special Forming & Finishing: Following CNC grinding, the bottom (shoulder) and sides of the T-slot receive manual finishing and chamfering. This eliminates micro-chipping, prevents edge collapse from stress concentration, and guarantees smooth insertion and stable locking for T-bolts and fixtures.
Systematic Accuracy Control:
The machining of T-slots strictly adheres to the “datum-first” principle. The reference surface of the granite plate must first be finished to its final ultra-precision grade. Only upon this precision datum are the T-slots then machined via CNC. Throughout the process, performed in a constant temperature and humidity environment environment, online measurement systems (e.g., laser interferometers) monitor and compensate for machine tool errors in real-time. This ensures the straightness, perpendicularity, and precise positional relationship of each T-slot relative to the master reference plane.
