The properties of precision granite master squares primarily stem from the physical and chemical nature of the natural stone, which makes them far superior to many metal measuring tools in terms of accuracy, stability, and durability.

1.Extremely High Dimensional Stability and Accuracy: Granite has undergone natural aging over hundreds of millions of years, resulting in the complete elimination of internal stress. The material is extremely stable, not prone to deformation, and can maintain high accuracy over the long term. Its coefficient of linear expansion is very small (approximately 4.6×10⁻⁶/℃), making it minimally affected by temperature. It can maintain measurement accuracy at room temperature without requiring constant temperature conditions. For example, for the highest grade 000 precision, the straightness or flatness error can be calculated using the formula “1×(1+ diagonal length d/1000) μm”, with the error typically within a few micrometers.

2.Excellent Physical and Mechanical Properties: The stone has a dense microstructure, a smooth, wear-resistant surface, and a low surface roughness value. It exhibits high hardness (above Shore hardness HS70, equivalent to HRC>51), high rigidity, and strong wear resistance. Its hardness is 2-3 times higher than that of cast iron. Even if struck by a heavy object, it will only shed a small amount of stone dust rather than undergo plastic deformation that would damage its accuracy, as is the case with metal tools.

3.Good Chemical Stability and Ease of Maintenance: Granite is resistant to acids, alkalis, corrosion, and is non-magnetic. It does not rust from moisture, requires no oiling for rust prevention, and does not easily attract fine dust, making it very convenient to use and maintain. For cleaning, only mild corrosive agents (such as lemon juice or vinegar) are needed. The use of soap or baking soda, etc., must be avoided.

4.High Load-Bearing Capacity: It has a high specific gravity (2970～3070 kg/m³) and high compressive strength (245～254 N/mm²), enabling it to maintain extremely high dimensional stability even under heavy load conditions.
